by Guest author Jenny Pilley, The Creare Group
Earlier this year I was invited, very kindly, by Patsi to be a guest blogger. Since receiving the invite it’s an offer I’ve been keen to accept, but time passed and I had yet to respond…until recently.
I am a Content Writer for The Creare Group, a web design and (White Hat) SEO company based in the UK. Like many companies, we have been promoting our services as a means of helping all businesses, including those struggling in the economic down turn.
Since speaking to various small and medium sized companies, we have discovered underlying problems within the SEO community. These have involved illegitimate, dishonest and down right disgraceful ‘Black Hat’ SEO agencies.
They have contacted many business owners, promising them Page One Position One listings for Organic Search Engine Optimization within an impossible timeframe.
But of course there are a mass of small and medium companies that:
BUT
b) Do not understand the logistics of SEO
This means that illegitimate SEO companies have succeeded in persuading people to sign up to their schemes. Not everyone understands the technical side of web design and SEO, so it is easy for people to invest money in these SEO campaigns that promise the world, then just can’t deliver.
‘Black Hat’ techniques are a way of getting a website to the top of search engine results quickly, using techniques such as spamming and excessive link building, to gain the ultimate result: Page One, Position One.
But what does it matter if you get the listings you want? Well, it has a detrimental effect on a website’s long-term performance within a Search Engine with the possibility that it could disappear from search results altogether.
Never a company to practice such techniques, The Creare Group has dedicated itself to using ‘White Hat’ strategies.
We are honest about the fact that we can get our customers to top positions, but only over an achievable period of time. Strong search results require continuous efforts to ensure they remain consistent, with the use of techniques such as article marketing, relevant link building and frequent reviews of a website’s performance.
Of course, hearing such stories about ‘Black Hat’ SEO companies left a sour taste in our mouth. We want to raise awareness about the importance of choosing the right company to ensure customers never lose out on money and achieve solid search results.
With this in mind, and using innovative and exciting techniques that will soon be taking the Web Design world by storm, we devised a fun, light-hearted music video featuring Michael Angrave and his band Charlie and the Martyrs. ‘The SEO Song’ seeks to convey the message that the right SEO campaign can always “take you higher…” to help get a business back on track.
Written and sung by Michael Angrave, one of our very own web designers, we at The Creare Group take pride in the fact that our business is one that seeks to genuinely help all of our customers.
This song serves as an attempt to get the attention of those businesses looking into improving their online marketing. We want to get our message about legitimate SEO across, in addition to demonstrating our creative, entertaining and fun loving side.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Patsi for helping us to spread this important message and I look forward to writing for her again soon…I’m sure she could do with more tennis time ;-0!
