I don't talk about money much, or selling. The other day I got an email from an irate guy swearing at me, calling me a *****, accusing me of having nothing better to do than blogging because I probably had a rich husband. (Photo credit: Shutterstock)
I have a handsome husband, a charming husband, a funny hubby, but … Forget that this emailer must have been drunk, and some kind of ugly misogynist freak, or… who knows what possessed him to use all those four-letter words on me.
So let me be clear. I love blogging but I wouldn't be doing it if people didn't hire me to help them, if it weren't such a powerful marketing tool, and a way for me to make money. (I try to be self-supporting by my own contributions in spite of a talented hubby who does indeed earn a nice consulting fee to his own company.)
The one thing "Mr. F***Off" got right is nobody has time for blogging unless it's worthwhile. What he got wrong, besides his attitude and foul language, is that "90% of blog readers are bloggers." (First of all, what's wrong with that, if some of those bloggers are potential clients?)
In fact, 100% of blog readers are human beings, with problems and challenges, looking for something. A small percentage of them have exactly the kind of situation that I'm good at fixing. I don't need 90% or even 19% of my readers to hire me (I couldn't handle the workload and wouldn't want to).
I don't talk much about the money you can make blogging, but I do want you to get the best help you can so that you can make money using the Internet for marketing. I know a few things, but I don't know it all.
Occasionally I promote other people's projects, if they're worthwhile and valuable. I make a commission because I'm an affiliate, but if I weren't, I'd promote them anyway because they're that good.
In the last few days I've begun promoting a couple of programs and free workbooks:
- Andy Wibbel's Instant Global Impact teleseminar series on blogging & social media
- Dave Navarro's (free) workbook 7 Steps to Networking with A-Listers
- Dave's (free) workbook 7 Steps to Playing a Bigger Game
- (Soon, stay tuned) Dave's unbelievable More Buyers Mastermind (coming Oct.12)
Both Andy and Dave have important things to teach you and they're all about doing things the smart way, the "making-money" way. That means:
- If you do blog, do it so it pays off.
- If you do use Twitter and Facebook, do it with purpose and with clear objectives
- If you do network, don't waste your time, get to the right people fast
- If you do go into business for yourself, face your fears, prepare yourself for "bigness"
I've made some good money in the last five years rarely leaving the comfort of my home. Blogging pays.
So I'm going to be selling the hell out of these two programs, not just to make money for myself, but because I believe you can make money for yourself and your business by implementing what these programs teach.
Right now, I'm encouraging you to click on this link immediately: Instant Global Impact. Read what Blogwild author Andy Wibbels has to say about "If you're not blogging, you're screwed!"
Sign up for Andy's 6-week teleseminar and learn how to blog smart, without wasting time, so that it puts money in the bank. Andy's a great guy you'll love spending time with, I guarantee it.
