10 Places to Publish Online Content

By Patsi Krakoff in About Blogs, Content Marketing, E-Books, Online Marketing, Promoting Your Ezine +/or Blog

Circles-of-influence How many different places online are you publishing content that markets for you and your business?

Rapidly, as new software and user-friendly Web tools emerge, the Internet has been changing the way we communicate with words. Almost too rapidly, some would say.

Here’s a partial list of where you could (and should) write and publish online:

•    Blogs and web pages
•    Ezines, e-newsletters
•    Web-based press releases
•    White Papers, special reports
•    Articles posted on directories
•    E-books, e-courses and autoresponders
•    Surveys & Quizzes
•    Podcasts and audio files
•    Video clips, YouTube
•    Social communities and networks, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn

What am I missing on this list?

What about book and product reviews, for example, over on Amazon? A good review will showcase your own expertise while writing about someone else’s stuff.

Feel free to submit suggestions, including specific sites that are good places to get published.

What about publishing using MyKnowledgeGenie.com? It's an online ebook creation wizard that makes it easy to create information products.

A client asked me the other day about inbound links to their blog. Getting links isn’t hard if you’re writing good stuff. Being published in multiple places will increase your chances somebody will write about and link to you.

Inbound links raise your authority level in the eyes of search engines like Google. This is necessary if you want to come up on the first page when clients search for solutions. The more content you've published, in more places, the better your chances are of ranking higher than a competitor.

However, quality beats quantity anyday. Search engines don't do a good job of judging quality, but customers do. Write for people not search engines. Write for the smart people who are your ideal clients.
